A cottage for me and you...................

Here is Jenny's 'Rosewood Cottage' quilt all finished! Isn't it lovely? I really like the nice balance of soft colours .I had fun quilting this as Jenny gave me free range to do what I like.......lucky me.

Here is one of the cats, I did a background filler of pearly /paisley loops...I thought it looked a bit like cats fur.

Don't love this house? And doesn't the pink peg match the colours of the quilt? He, he he!!
Jenny gave me this quilt and this quilt to finish off for her, thankyou Jenny.
Please click on the photo's for a close up.

Home comimg.....

I love this bag, I made it some time back as a sample for the cool shop I work at and now it has come home.We still have these patterns available, a design by Janelle Wind. It is quite a decent size...a bit too big for a hand bag, a friend suggested to use it as a stitching bag, it has pockets right around the outside (Log Cabins) and also inside the bag, great for storing your sewing bits.....I could also make these in the same fabrics to go with the bag!

Bargain find and..................

This is my wee bargain from Trade Me, what I want to make from this book is this beauty.
Now without adding 2 and 2 together (I can be like this!) I also ordered the new updated version of this book because I knew it had that beauty of a quilt in it....oh well such is life, or as they seem to say in blog land LOL!
I first saw this quilt on Joan's blog and she told me the name of the pattern and what book she thought it came out of...a bit of Google searching later I found the book.
When I'll get this made is anyone guess!

And, last but not least...this is what I am working on....more later.

3 finishes.......

Here is a quilt I have recently finished for my dear friend
Jenny, this is a very simple but effective quilt...very soft colours.
Strips of border fabric and rows of the Hour Glass block.
This quilt  is called 'Oma's Treasure".

Number 5 "My Garden" BOM from Lynette Anderson another cute block......no doubt Raewyn you have finished yours??

What is this quilt????

Nine Patches!!!
Here you will see I have done a very simple setting
1 1/2" sashings with corner stones, no border as such, just the sashing again and for the quilting.... quick as pie.....cross hatching.
I did this nine patch as a swap with a round robin group I am in...can't show you the round robin I am working on, just in case the owner sees it here on my blog!
But if you pop over here you will see another friend in the group with her nine patches at play....oh did I say there are 144 blocks!!!

Here is my nine patch back...some extra patches I made, I think I got carried away one day making them.
I have a new love of scrappy backs they seem to have a life of their own.

Beginners Quilt

Here is the quilt I gave you a peep of the other day...now all finished. Jacki made a great job of this, she had a few problems but to her credit she stuck with it.
Under the house (tan area) is not quilted as there are YOYO's added here onto the Prairie points that have flopped down.

Here is the back of the quilt.....nearly as nice as the front isn't it?

Now in the next week I will be quilting it's mate as
Jacki made a pair! so watch this space for this quilts partner.

quilting......

Sometimes deciding what you are going to quilt takes more time than the actual quilting, that is what happens from time to time.

It is hard to tell from this photo, but I am working on a feather here.
I hope the finished look of this quilt will please the owner.

Frosty Flakes 5

Here is my next 'flake'...
mmmmm not the chocolate kind!
I thought it would look nice with my Tulips and my most favourite gift my youngest son gave me.....my red bike. I love this wee red bike, he was so proud to show me when I came home one day and how he had written my name on the mud guard....he didn't spend any money just thoughts that 'mum would like that for her garden'......he got it from the dump!

Thanks again Dawn......I like the stitching.

grandads shirts

What a fun quick quilt to make...this will be nice to snuggle up to.I have used shirts bought from OP shops (not my grandads...but someones, I'm sure) cut into 8" squares, some with pockets left on, cut 7" squares of batting and 8" squares of brushed cotton for the back.....soooooo easy. But very messy doing the snips.I noticed AFTER I washed and put through the dryer that I missed snipping one wee row...oh well might get back to it, might not, it doesn't really matter.
Love those shirts, I have fun getting these from the OP shops and it is helping a charity.

Sherbet anyone?

This reminds me of the sherbet I would buy (well my parents probably!) in a bag with a straw....mmmmmm, Yum!
Anyway Jacki made this beauty and wanted open meander through the centre and some straight line stitching on the borders.
This is a very achievable and simple quilting design that doesn't take away from the fabric it's self.

Thankyou Jacki :-)
