No easter eggs for me.......

But I have something much better!.....

A couple of weeks ago I quilted this quilt for Lynette Anderson, then just the other day I received a wonderful suprise in the mail.......a delicious selection of Lynette's new fabric range.  I am  very thrilled with this generous gift and have come close a couple of times to rolling in the fabric!
This range is called Scandinavian Christmas, due out later in the year.

A few weeks ago I won these delightful wee patterns from Gail Pan....there are some lovely cute things to make, a pincushion, dillie bag, project folder and pouch, all measuring no more than 8" x 10". The pincushion measures only 5"!
I was fortunate enough to meet Gail a couple of years ago and she is a very nice person, down to earth and obviously generous!

THANK YOU LYNETTE AND GAIL and Happy Easter to all.

Black & Cream and a present

Please click on photo's
Gaynor made this quilt at a midnight madness class at The Country Yard
Simple yet effective, lots of comments about this  fabric, most like the cream with the black rather than white, it is a bit softer.

It seems to be the season for orange peel quilting....

A birthday present

One spool pocket and a bit of hand quilting, makes for a nice bag I made for a friend for her birthday.

Another spool.....Happy Birthday Kerryn!

The Country Yard and my sewing...

The Country Yard Stitchery

A close up of some of the quilting I did on a shop sample for www.thecountryyard.co.nz.

This is a fantastic quilt shop that caters to many patch workers needs, beautiful fabrics, threads, friendly welcoming atmosphere.

I used a stencil for this part and used Signature variegated thread.
I also did an orange peel effect on the postage stamp blocks.

Needle turned block and orange peel quilting.

Now and then I get to make some things for myself..........

A bit of early Christmas cheer! Lynette Anderson's Christmas Fun Button Mystery BOM These are cute as anything...I haven't added the Gingerbread man button, I will add after the quilter has quilted it!

Strippy Classic

This is my Leader/Ender project that I have been piecing for months now, just when ever I get a chance to sew I join my 2" squares. This is what I have got so far, it is 100" long and I need 7 of these babies! Already I am seeing double ups of my fabrics, still it won't matter. This may take many months or years to make, but that is AOK by me...
I got this pattern from Bonnie Hunters Leader /Ender book.I have just bought her other 2 books, recycling cotton shirts.....my husband better start hiding his shirts as he has some nice ones...100% cotton too!

Get your 3D glasses....

Margaret the maker of this quilt tells me this is a Sara Nephew design, pretty amazing stuff!!
The 3D effects are really clever as is the background fabric, which is black with tiny white dots, that gives you the feeling of being in a Star Wars movie.
With the help of some of Leah day's designs I did a different quilting design on each colour using my all time favourite thrreads Madeira Polyneon's.
Also using Madeira thread, this time a Metallic for a bit of 'Bling'.
Margaret tells me this is going on the wall that will have weights attached to the bottom edge.

This is the second quilt I have done for Margaret now this being the first

Red Brolly

Polka Dot Girls
There is something special about stitchery quilts, I'm not sure if it just because I like them or the fact that the stitcheries add a little something to what would normally be a nice quilt.
Anyway the colours of the Red Brolly quilt are very stunning. The maker of this quilt, Denise made one block and showed it to a recently engaged couple to gauge if they liked it or not as she wanted to make it as  wedding present for them, they did so Denise went full steam ahead.........

With my trusty favourite threads I went ahead with Denise's instructions of 'please no quilting across the stitcheries'.......Oh as if I could, they are so beautiful.
I decided to play with texture and patterns......

Look at this cute female snowman....can you say that?
I love the way Lynette has done her snow flakes...click on photo for a closeup.....

Oh dear! You can tell computer work isn't my first love...sorry about that.
Snowman Santa is decorating his tree, there is satin stitching, wool felt, blanket stitch, needleturn, running stitch, which are signs that this is designed by Lynette.

ARRRG!!!......What is going on here? Just pretend they are the right way, or tilt your computer!

"Riding in a one horse open sleigh "
It doesn't get much cuter than this.

Because this quilt is called "Snowball Fun" I wanted to do some snowballs, so around each block I did tiny snowballs AKA flower seeds, pearls, beads, pebbles etc...
I carried these out to the scalloped border.

Lynette gave me me complete freedom on this beautiful quilt to which I thank her very much.
