Just over a week ago I managed in between down pours to prune my beautiful rose which I think is called Compassion, although I'm not 100% sure as I received it as a cutting. I have given many cuttings away over the past ten years. It's a rose with an incredible scent & three good flushes of flowering from October through to May. I am told it is meant to be a climber, so I am trying with a cutting I took a couple of years ago, I will keep you posted.

Thanks for stopping by,
Leeanne.
Another stunning line up Leeanne. I really do think your custom quilting just makes those Sue Spargo quilts pop!! I can imagine all the work in going around all those wool details & making them stand out - even the backs of them are a work of art.
ReplyDeleteYour compassion rose looks stunning ... I was going to finish pruning my roses today but it is pouring down so it has been put on hold. Maybe a good day for the sewing room. xx
I always love to see how you quilt those lovely Sue Spargo designs. It is another incredible job!
ReplyDeleteSimply Serene is a nice pattern, and I love that it features Kiwiana fabrics, and that you have an E2E design of the Christmas flower in the fabric, that you can use on it.
I'm fascinated by that gorgeous rosebush, and I wish I COULD smell it. It saddens me how they have bred the scent right out of most roses. I have a small rose bed with just six rosebushes, and when I need to replace one, I will only buy one from a local nursery that I can sniff and get a lovely scent. All of my roses are floribundas, and there are some lovely scented ones.
