First customer quilts of 2015

Hello friends and bloggers, today I'm sharing two quilts from my lovely customers. First is a quilt Donna made for her friend using scraps from her 'French Roses' quilt, see here for post about this beautiful quilt.

Donna asked for simple cross hatching, measuring 40" x 48" this will make a sweet present for a special friend.

Donna also requested I make and attach the binding ready for her to hand stitch in place when she received the quilt back in the post.

Second quilt for this year was made by Jill for her Aunts granddaughter.

Jill requested an all over quilting design, 'whirls' seemed fun but feminine also.

I used a variegated thread from Madeira, which has lovely colours and a slight shine, all this over Matilda's Own wool/poly batting.

Today I am putting the final touches on the third quilt of the year, my lovely customer requested custom quilting, this of course is more time consuming.

Of course with the heat we are experiencing here in Northland my 'supervisor' is far too worn out to supervise!

  1. Ah yes I remember that French Roses quilt, it was just stunning. The scrappy quilt is beautiful too Leeanne, I just love all those fabrics. You sure are motoring through the quilts this year :-) I am loving your "supervisor" - he sure does have the life !!!

  6. I really need to make a scrappy quilt, I've got loads of stuff I've found at op shops, so lots of random pieces. Like the colours in the last one x

  7. I know how much you just ADORE SUMMER!!! We have ceiling fans and they are cranked on high at night, especially the one in my bedroom, makes sleeping easier. Your exhausted helper looks very similar to my helpers. PS: nice Rose quilt. You can tell I am here for the cat not the quilting, and you of course, coz I am still waiting for that CUPPA!!

  10. My supervisor's been too hot to even come near my studio of late, too busy hanging out in the cool of the garden! Maybe I will make it onto your posts one of these days ~ only one more star for Mountmellick and then moving onto the corners and final border fabric ~ I can smell a finish ~ faintly ~ LOL

  11. I love that you too also have a supervisor!! Keep up the great quilting. I have yet to even attempt to do my own one. I especially love the feathers on the quilts.
