Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness...........................

Hello poppets, today I share with you a pretty quilt that has been made by many hands to raise money to support Breast cancer awareness.

Blocks made by several willing helpers and put together by Sandy (owner, operator of Northland Sewing Centre).
Sandy asked me if I would be happy to quilt this pretty quilt, measuring: 45" x 63" which would then be raffled once the binding has been attached.

Would it be fair to say we all know at least one women who has been affected by Breast cancer? I know of more than one, so this was one small way for me to give something to hopefully help find a cure.

The pink ribbons are a well know symbol for the disease, the hearts and hands are a welcome addition.

Most of the hands had rings, some had 'painted' nails, a couple had embellishments that I had to remove for quilting.

The border fabric is bright and vibrant so most quilting wouldn't be a feature, but I did pick out some of the fuchisa coloured flowers and did some light thread play to help them 'pop' from the other flowers.
The backing fabric is even pink!

You can find raffle tickets for sale at Northland Sewing Centre. If you like this quilt please be sure to buy a ticket or two, even if this quilt isn't 'your cup of tea' buying a ticket is some small way to help.

Out walking this morning I noticed we had a new neighbour...................................

This little fella is only a week old! oh so cute and real motivation to head out for a walk just to see him! I hope to get some closer photo's soon.
