Facebook followers will recognise this quilt from those pesky sneaky peeks I keep posting!
Veron's Bronwyn Hayes collection of stitcheries, put together from Veron's own design. This is a quilt on the larger side : 85" x 94", the borders are very wide so I had to do some thinking outside my 'normal' collection of border ideas.
Swags, feathers, stipple and picket fencing using Glide thread "Tar Heel".(a strange name for soft blue)
Nice curvy orange peel on the rectangle and square piecing, they actually look like jumping jacks!
I went for fairly plain quilting on the stitchery blocks and Veron is delighted with her quilt. The light blue sashing was needing something, this is the before the 'something'...............................
And after......................................................
So that was two of the four quilts I have from Veron. I took a small break in between the 'Happy Daze' and this one to whip up another quilt Marcelle needed to give a new born baby and family.
Sorry for the fuzzy photo, I had to take the photo inside, not my first choice, but when it's raining and blowing a gale there are minimal choices!
Marcelle has been scrap busting! I love the scraps coming together to make a wonderful quilt. Quilted with a soft variegated thread in stars and loops.
Wishing you all a happy and safe week, thinking of the families in Florida.
