New into my wee wide backing 'shop' are these two scrumptious ones by Heather Ross:

A recent finish personal finish are my scrappy ribbed slouch socks. I tried Jen's Easy Peasy Ribbed Socks & lots of scraps of yarn, as Jen was having a scrappy knit-along. I was fortunate to have a couple of local ladies give me some sock yarn as well as an avid sock knitter friend on Instagram send me some yarn rolled into the cutest little rolls.
These socks are warm & remind me of my teenage years wearing leg warmers!
Now I just need winter to visit me!

Now having a hubby that is a school teacher has meant there are frequent holidays. Over the years I use to carry on working with maybe a week off here & there, but now days I find myself taking the same time off too. I must confess I have come to enjoy it!
Below is a montage of some recent holiday happenings:

I hope you all had a good Easter break, here in the north island of New Zealand there was a wild storm. Sadly we had a our beautiful red Rhododendron blown over & broken by high winds & no power for 24hrs. The Easter bunny was reported to still get through, although not to my house??

I've managed a few knitting projects too & reading!

Until next time, take care & happy creating.

Thank you Angela, Gail and Lara for entrusting your colourful quilts to me.

Over the last few months I have been knitting nearly every night. And in the past three years I've knitted loads of jumpers and cardigans for my two youngest grandkids. When they had enough garments to keep them warm and toastie, I just kept knitting with no one in mind. I knitted baby cardigans and vests, I now have quite a nice stack!  I've given some away when I hear of someone who's had a baby. Now my focus is knitting socks. They make great gifts.
I love the Opal self patterning yarn, it's fun to see the pattern evolve as I knit.
I really look forward to the end of the day so I can put my feet up, pick up my knitting and watch a movie or series with my sweet hubby.

Quilting for Lynette, Roger, Sue & Veta

Hello Quilty Friends!

It's June, my birthday month - Happy Birthday to me!
Way back when my Mum let me loose on her Bernina 830 to cobble together some outfits for my barbie dolls, did that little me know I was going to grow up to be a quilter?

Some of you enjoyed the YouTube video I shared of the Irish linen commissioned piece I made, so I thought you might like to see my most viewed video on my Youtube channel.
It's free motion quilting in action on a Tula Pink quilt. You might remember seeing the post about this quilt a couple of years ago?
**HERE** is the link to that post.
