Some Kind of Wonderful!

Annie Downs  design's the most yummiest quilts and here is one I recently quilted......."Some Kind of Wonderful".........with a slightly different look to Annie's original.
For the best viewing, click on the photo's.
A group effort for Aurely's 50th birthday. Aurely loves pink, & pastel's. Six friends each made a block they fancied. For a nice uniformed looked & using fabric we knew Aurely would like, we used Bunny Hill's range ~ "Puttin on the Ritz", with a touch of a green fabric. Most blocks were chosen from Annie's book, some were from other sources of inspiration. As one of Aurely's friends, rather than make a block I offered to do the quilting.
Kerryn's block

Janet's block

Barbara's block

Jacki's block ( one of Aurely's cat's)

Jan's block ( Aurely's other cat)

"Puttin' on the Ritz" by Bunny Hill. This is the fabric range. Designed by Kerryn, owner of The Country Yard
Kerryn completed the stitchery designs using Cottage Garden Threads.
So as you can see the photo's are not going to win any prizes. I did some custom quilting on the stitchery blocks, straight lines on the blocks with RicRac & the remainder has an all over swirl/paisley design.

This is a lovely, super soft flannelette cot quilt. I did a allover design of swirls using Gunold variegated thread.
Once again bad photo's :-/

This weekend Whangarei Patchwork & Quilters has their 25th Exhibition. The Counrty yard is one of the merchants on site. If you are in the area you might fancy popping in for a look.

P.S apologies for the dull photo's. (if you click on the photo's they are much better)
