Quilting for Cherie, Janine & Judith

Hello Quilty Friends!
I have a wonderfully colourful & textured post for you today, if only it was a 'touch screen' then you would surely be rubbing her hands over the two Sue Spargo quilts!
Janine's Flora hand embroidered wool quilt was finished last year but due to Sue Spargo's rules I could not share photo's until the pattern was released to the masses!
You will also see Judith's Chirp quilt, another Sue Spargo design.
But first lets take a look at Cherie's two colourful rail fence quilts made to gift to a boy & one for a girl.
If you make it through all the photos you will be rewarded with a short video.

A recent finish of mine is BIRDS OF AOTEAROA. I purchased the gorgeous Ellen Giggenbach panel then got to rummaging through my stash for suitable coordinating fabrics. I got the quilt top together in fair time but then it hung around waiting for quilting. I sent a request to an American digital designer for a Kowhai border. I was delighted with their design, I think it makes the quilt.
True to form this is another quilt that IS FOR SALE!

  2. I know I say this every time but there looks to be SO much work in those Sue Spargo Quilts. They look very tactile - that first Floral one is a design I have not seen before. And lots of work in quilting them too I imagine ... getting between all those raised bumpy bits must be quite some achievement.
We finally have our new computer up & running - it sat on the lounge floor for about 3 weeks. It is taking some getting used to but at least I can now catch up on blog posts. xx

  3. I do like the texture you added to the two pieced designs at the top, but words can't express the way my heart reacts when I see the custom quilting on the Sue Spargo quilts!! Incredible!
Love the bird quilt. So beautiful. The birds are such an integral part of New Zealand. If I hadn't spent all my money to recently go there, I would seriously want to buy that quilt for my granddaughter, who is an artist, and loves birds as a subject. I hope it goes to a good home that appreciates it.
