not so traditional sampler

This stunning quilt was made by Jill, who was a student in a traditional sampler class held at The Country Yard. Some months back I quilted the shop sample, seen here  ( Please click to enlarge photo's.)

This is a good example of a traditional quilt using not so traditional fabrics. The border fabric can be seen for something non quilty too, as seen here
If you are not sick of photo's there are a few close ups.

Because the border fabric is a dark purple paisley it was difficult to show the quilting I did, so here is a photo of the back.
It is sad the photo's never really do the quilt justice.

For a quilter who claims to have 'A Quilters Garden' I have done all right today, as I actually did some gardening! It is a lovely sunny day here in Northland New Zealand.
I hope what ever you are doing sun or not, that it makes you smile.

  3. Love the feather quilting especially when you mix it up with different curls and spirals. Do you teach this in a class?
