Quilting for Dorothy, Kerry & Marcelle

Hello Quilty Friends!
The month of May is ticking away & will be gone with a flash of King Charles crown!
Todays post consists of three very different quilts, Dorothy made a special family member living in Australia a unique sampler style quilt, while Kerry made a striking quilt using fabrics she printed herself!
Marcelle's quilt, or should I say Marcelle's twin 12 year old daughters made a super sweet quilt for their favourite aunty who is due to have a baby.
At the end of the post you will see a couple of recent finishes I have made for my shop, both are needing homes....wink, wink 😀

A couple of months ago I went to a Hospice Bric-A-Brac sale. There were loads of people & fabric! All proceeds went to Hospice, what a great cause & because of that I did not feel guilty when I purchased  few pieces of silk & silk dupioni. Here is what I did with some of one piece:

On my computer the colour is not reading true, it really is a lovely colour.

I used a digital quilting block design, then added the vintage linen to the middle of the design & hand guided some freemotion quilting to add some more vintage interest. I even quilted a back, complete with covered buttons!

Covered buttons & quilted back.

The other creation I made sometime ago was this Birds of Aotearoa. Made from a gorgeous panel & fabrics from my stash.....I do have a good selection! I don't have a full frontal photo, but the following video seems to show it off nicely.

If you or someone you know might like a unique gift, the cushion is $70NZD plus postage.
The Birds of Aotearoa quilt is $700NZD plus postage.

Until next time............
