Welcome & HELLO 2023!

What a fantastic year it's going to be.

I had a slow start back to quilting this year - an extra long holiday lounging around, mountain biking, sewing & odd jobs around the house & seeing 3 of my 4 adult kids & ALL of my grandchildren!

Of course here in New Zealand it's summer & in Northland it's HOT & HUMID - so that makes getting going sluggish. But I'm here & I have 4 lovely quilts to share with you plus a couple of new additions to my quilts for sale.

Quilting - Modified E2E - I freemotion quilted a leafy vine around the blocks, then ditch stitched the hand embroideries.

Shannon's grandmother originally made this quilt, piecing and hand quilting it, but never finished it.

Shannon did a wonderful thing, she unpicked the hand quilting, replaced the suspect borders to refresh the quilt top but still honoring her grandmother. For a newbie to quilt making, I believe Shannon did a lovely job, I'm sure there will be years of comforting cuddles for this quilt!

Over my holiday break I made another quilt for my shop, as well as some pretty custom quilted pouches made from vintage linens.

On a personal creative note, I have been plodding away at my Mandolin quilt, I am joining the blocks together, while contemplating making the quilt bigger. Also I have been making a few scrappy pouches from my 2.5" squares.
