Remember When...........?

This is the second quilt of this same design I have had the pleasure of quilting. The one pictured here was for Kerryn at The Country Yard.

The following close up shots are of Veron's quilt.Veron happily gave me free range on her quilt.I like the subtle changes she made to make this her own quilt, even though it was a BOM.

Sometimes I find the angled shots show off the quilting best...look at Veron's beautiful stitching!

Libby Richardson's designs are always thought provoking and simply stunning!

How true is that statement!

And yesterday you saw this block.

Favourite things

Here is one of my favourite things....this is my Row I did for our Round robin group...(I think I like plaids!)
These wee houses are paper pieced and I got the patterns from "Down in the Valley" by Cori Derksen and Myra Harder. The entire book is all paper pieced houses. I bought this book off TradeMe for $10!
Please click on the photo so you can see the tiny pieces.

In January our group of 12  creative quilters got together with our finished Row (so that's mine in the first photo), fabrics, notebook with what would would like, measurements etc, popped the lot in a bag and swapped with another in the group...and once each month we would meet and do another swap.Until there was no more swapping to do! Monday night we got our bag back....these are all my rows laid out.
Aren't they cute??
Now I have the task of deciding how to piece this wall hanging. I might pick out a fabric for a sashing, maybe a fairly plain ,dark fabric then do a scrappy border, any suggestions?

Customers heart........

This is a stunning quilt that Jill has made as gift for a family member!
Measuring 92" x 84" this is a big quilt, it has a 10 " border which you can see is very busy so the quilting I did is lost. I did a paisley and heart vine.
Jill wanted the 'heart' to not get lost so I ditch stitched either side of the dark squares and cross hatched the centre of the heart and did a loose stipple outside the heart to make a background.

If you click on this photo you will see what I have done , also you see the 'peeper' Jill has made to go around the colour wash quilt centre.
In the yellow sashing I quilted a rope using Maderia Polyneon thread, I love the hint of sparkle these threads can give to a quilt with out looking like a hooker running fast with junk jewelry!

I have a house........

paper pieced houses
Is it rude to say how much you really like something you've made?
Sorry if it is...but I do love this and wished I had taken a photo of the whole row! Yes there is a whole row of these cute houses.

It is only FOUR more sleeps until my houses come home to me! Yippie, you see they have been away from home since February....why would I send them away? Well they were my part of my Round Robin Row by Row. So they have been off to all the 11 creative people in our group for them to add a row.

On Monday night we get together to receive our bags back and we have no idea what has been created for us the past 11 months....I must remember to take my camera to take photo's of all the other quilts. As part of our group we did a Nine Patch swap too, here you will see them
