Today I am happy to share with you two more quilts I have quilted for Marcelle. The first is called 'Somerhill House' a Gail Pan Design.
Marcelle asked for custom quilting on this chic quilt, all the applique is hand done.
did anyone spot the blocks missing the second pass of cross-hatching? These have since been fixed! |
Stitch in the ditch, curved cross-hatching and feathers.
I had left the background of the appliqued house block unquilted and Marcelle and I both agreed it needed more, so more I did.............................
Better don't you agree? Now for a photo of the backing and in true Marcelle style it is pieced.
The next quilt of Marcelle's is cooling and soothing in blue's and creams. All over quilting was requested by Marcelle, I used 'Modern Squares'.
Another pieced backing.................................................
Thank you Marcelle!
Over the Easter period we have had family visiting, one has been one of my granddaughters. Checkout the fabulous arty looking chocolate muffins she made.............and they were yummy!!
I really enjoy your posts. Great eye candy and always love the quilt texture.
ReplyDeleteYOu make quilts come alive with your work!
ReplyDeleteLove how you've split the squares to quilt each half differently, beautiful quilting.
ReplyDeleteMarcelle has been busy - and so have you....her quilts are both lovely...that's an interesting effect splitting the squares like that. Yummy looking muffins - bet you've enjoyed your visitors :-)
ReplyDeleteSuch clever custom quilting on that top quilt. That was a lot of curved cross-hatching!!
ReplyDeleteAnd a great design choice on the second quilt, too.
Love the Gail Pan quilt Leeanne, the house looks magical. Wish I could reach into my screen & enjoy one of those muffins.
ReplyDeleteGood on Marcelle with her finishes!! Love the quilting on the Gail Pan quilt especially like the curved cross hatching and Modern Squares looks funky on the other quilt. Yummy looking muffins, I'm thinking granddaughter has got her Granny's artistic flair!! xxxx
ReplyDeleteMarcelle has certainly been busy. Love the Gail Pan quilt and how you quilted it. The house block does look better with the background quilted. How did you managed to line up the backing so perfectly. This cross hatching and feathers are perfectly placed in the squares on the back-no mean feat.
