Hello blog readers!
I have more quilts to share with you, but I will save some for another post.
Sharing another quilt I quilted for The Country Yard a simple stitchery /charm pack quilt.
The stitchery designs are from Wild Craft Farms and the Charm pack is called 'Grant Park'. very simple piecing, stitcheries, so therefore simple quilting was perfect.
I loved the sweet little print for the backing fabric.
Next is a oh so pretty quilt made by Pam for a friends wee baby girl. Pam has machine embroidered some delightful images.
Pam bought her fabrics from The Country Yard and Kerryn (shop owner) came up with an original and simple setting.
For me working on this quilt was like looking at Sherbet and 'happiness'. Pam chose cotton batting and I used a Gunold very soft pastel variegated thread. There were these four patch blocks that needed to be 'jazzed' up a bit, so a bit of 'divide and conquering' happened to create some interest and texture,
.......................out came the curved ruler and thrown in for good measure was some ribbon candy (seemed right when dealing with a quilt that reminded me of Sherbet!)
I just LOVE the finished textures!
Look at these two cuties......................................"Mr & Mrs Prickles".
I know I haven't been very consistent with my back show offs, so this one might make up for it.
During the quilting I get Meow's at the screen door, "Let me in".......................... I am thinking.............you have a cat door!!! We do love our furry friends, but sometimes they can test our patients..................I find it hard to say no to that cute face.
I'm loving the strong colours on the first quilt - red and blue, lovely. And I love the texture on that second quilt too. Thanks for sharing the backs - I'm a back lover!

ReplyDeleteLove how you have quilted the baby quilt. The curved ruler certainly worked we.. And how could you resist that face. Last night my older cat kept going out the cat door, walked around the front and sat at the door meowing to come in again!!
ReplyDeleteLovely to see Pam's quilt and the great merging of the machine embroidery, piecing and quilting. Such a lovely gift for a wee girl.
ReplyDeleteThe quilting on Pam's quilt takes it to a whole new level - fantastic! You are a machine Leeanne - always in awe of just how much you achieve!
ReplyDeleteLovely quilts with beautiful stitcheries. Your custom quilting on the second one looks amazing!
