A farewell quilt

What do you do when a special friend is leaving town, moving to another island, you know you will miss her................................................????
You make a quilt! So that's what a group of friends did to farewell our friend. Knowing she loves Lynette Anderson's ' Hollyhock' range of fabric ( with a touch of wool felt ) we set to making a keepsake.
The centre block is our 'signature' block, I quilted all our names & the year & stating we would be friends forever.

Two finishes!

It only took me 3 weeks of making ( in between, quilting, cooking & washing! )....but I am rather happy with my wee cushion. This cushion is available as a kit at The Country Yard. A Lynette Anderson Design called "Quilt Shoppe" , I have used Lynette's Hollyhock Cottage fabric range too.

 My second finish is the next Helen Brown novel, called "After Cleo, Came Jonah". a great read about mother daughter relationships & a interesting cat! ( this also took quite awhile to finish, longer than 3 weeks!)
