Quilting for Dorothy & Merry Christmas!

Hello Quilty friends!

Welcome back for my last post for 2023.
Another year another wrinkle 😄
Dorothy is a customer from Taranaki, another part of the north island of New Zealand, about an eight hour drive. Anyway for the last few years Dorothy has been sending me quilt tops in bulk!
Anything from six to ten quilt tops.
This year it was ten quilt tops. I promised I would get as many quilted before I finished quilting for the year. I quilted seven. They are all back (thank you NZPost!) with Dorothy as she now begins her mammoth binding expedition.
I won't share every photo and video I took, if you want more eye candy you will have to trot over to either my Instagram or Facebook pages. Let me know what you think.

All over quilting designs

Some of you may recognise this design, it is a Bonnie Hunter mystery from last year, or possibly the year before? This quilt is on the bigger side! ~ 95" x 95" called "Easy Street".
Barbara has chugged away on the piecing doing 'leaders and enders' to get this completed in time so she can gift away to some special for this Christmas.

Barbara asked for an all over quilting design using bamboo/cotton batting. In my last post  you may have spotted this quilt also. Fun vibrant fabrics.

Thank you Barbara, I hope your lovely Christmas gift is loved!

Next are three quilts for a baby.

Isn't this fun fabric! Shannon got busy to make these three quilts for her baby, she thought they would be nice to have as floor quilts for her sweet baby to play on. What a great idea!!

Lots of hearts, an all over quilting design seen here on the back.

Bugs this time! Lucky baby, don't you think?
You may have seen sneaky peeks on my Facebook page.

Cats this time.

Checkout the fun backing of these last two quilts.........................................

Yea-haw cowgirls and cowboys! Happy days to Shannon's baby.

I have several more customer quilts to share, but I don't want to over load you with photo's.
Wishing you all a happy weekend, my supervisor wishes you a happy weekend also!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!
I'm sure this will be a great year for much sewing and completions of UFO, flimsy's etc.

I have enjoyed reading a couple of books in the last few weeks I thought I would share as if you haven't read them I sure you would enjoy.
My friend Raewyn lent me this book and it is a must read for all quilting chicks!.....Thanks Raewyn.

What a great read this was. Easy reading, relaxing, a trip down memory lane of previous Elm Creek books and I nearly cried a couple of times.

I am looking forward to the last chapter in the Orca Bay Bonnie Hunter mystery, in between working on that I have been working on something that I can only give you a sneaky peaky of..........more later!

part 6 of Orca Bay Mystery

Look what turned up in my vegetable garden.............................
All finished.....56 Ohio Stars....of course I had to actually finish part one!!! So now I feel double delight.
My wee 'orange friend ' from last time was nowhere to been seen, but I did find these marigolds in my wee vege patch and the pumpkin leaves work well for plates for my blocks don't you think?
This one is for you Rhonda , check out the square top right hand corner....same brown fabric you are using!! I used the same fabric on this table runner........

now for proof I did make all 56 blocks.....................................!
Now don't these wee sweeties go well with my blocks?

Wanna pop over with me to see what everyone else is doing......?

Thank you for taking the time to stop by my corner of the world :-)
