Quilting for Pam

Hello Quilty Friends!
And HELLO October, how did this month come around soooo quickly?
Today's post is all about my creative & generous customer Pam.
You may recall an earlier post about the task Pam has set for herself making quilts for each resident in her mothers rest home? *Here is the post I am referring to*
A couple of weeks ago Pam sent me seven more quilts for this project. I'm not sure if these seven quilts complete the project or not? I believe the residents are going to be so delighted, wouldn't you?

Thank you SO MUCH Pam for your continued loyal support & repeat offending! 😁
Long may our working relationship bloom.

I recently finished the Bears & Dears quilt I started at retreat in June.
I'd really love to sell this quilt, but Elizabeth Hartman ( Pattern designer) has a copyright on all of her patterns, even though I purchased the pattern new & purchased all the fabrics. So I'm not sure what to do with it? I absolutely love making quilts & don't want to stop,
but I have SO MANY QUILTS!!

Another pair of socks completed, this time for one of my sisters:

Until next time..............................

If you're curious about how I quilted it — from loading the quilt to the final stitches — I’ve uploaded a (long!) video showing the full process. There are a few non-quilting bits too, so feel free to fast forward to the parts that interest you... or watch the whole thing if you're a quilting enthusiast! 🧵🪡

On the weekend I visited Magnolias at Proctor, what an incredible garden!
Below is a collage of some photos.

Another weekend task was to put my Bears & Deers quilt together:

I decided on "Night Visitor" from my wide backing selection.

For a closer look at my selection of wide backing fabrics,
see Backing Fabric at the top of the blog.

Thank you for stopping by, see you next time!

Quilting for Janis

Hello Quilty Friends!
Just like that another month has gone. The weather has f-i-n-a-l-l-y turned cooler.
As a winter loving girl I'm happy!
There's something about lighting the fire, making a pot of soup &
snuggling under a quilt that makes me very happy.
I wonder if after so many years in the making of the following quilt, Janis will be snuggling under it?
I told her not to wait years to get that binding on so she can safely enjoy the fruits of her labour!

Janis' beautiful quilt BEFORE quilting.

Pattern - Remember When by Libby Richardson.
Measurements - 64"x 64"
Quilting - Custom Quilting.
Batting - Cotton - Purchased from me.

Here's a short video of the complete top:

Thank you for entrusting me with your quilt Janis, I'm sure it will become a family heirloom.

To finish off this post is a quilt I recently finished too, although it didn't take years to make, just a couple of weeks:

It's that time of the year in my garden. Spring is putting on a full show!
Once upon a time gardening was my main passion before patchwork grabbed me by the ankles & pulled me under. Now I find myself grumbling when I'm working in the garden, I shouldn't I know, but I'd rather be sewing! But I do enjoy looking at our beautiful garden (maybe not the weeds!) & the native birds hanging out there too.
Here's a couple of photo's:

Thanks for stopping by.
