Welcome April!
I like this quilt, not the colours but the pattern.

This is a Lynette Anderson pattern called : "Orange Tree Cushion" I finished this week as a sample for The Country Yard.

The back of the cushion.
And when I loaded the photo's I spotted my booboo..............take a look at the blue daisies..................

NO french knots!!!!!!!

Now these are my Angel Story blocks so far....................

Pot plant Penelope

This was a very popular BOM a few years ago, designed by Annie Downs. I bought the book, a Jelly roll, charm pack & co coordinating fabrics. You won't see this finished any day soon, but I am enjoying stitching away in the evenings. The flowers in this block were meant to be just stitched daisies, but I wanted to try my hand at English daisies using wool felt.
Angela the Animal Lover

Millicent the Magnificent Mum
Hettie at the Hat Shop
Again this block was meant to have stitched daisies, but I did some English daisies, I like the texture.
Last but not least a book finish for me.....................

Wishing you all a hopping good Easter!

Jelly Roll quilt and Marie Bostwick novel

my shadow!
When Kerry's Mum passed away her children wanted to get her fabric so she could make a quilt in memory of her Mum. So they popped along to The Country Yard as this is Kerry's 'local' . They bought a Jelly roll, sashing fabric and a pattern and gave it their Mum.
Pieced at a retreat last year and given to me before Christmas to quilt.( I had a big back log !)
I finished quilting yesterday and phoned Kerry to tell her her Mum's quilt was finished, turns out it would have been Kerry's Mum's birthday yesterday! I never knew, isn't the world a mysterious place sometimes.
Kerry wanted me to quilt a similar style as this quilt. Hugs to you Kerry and I hope this quilt gives you warm thoughts of not only your Mum, but your thoughtful children also.

Second book in the series finished! I loved it and now have the third to read.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!
I'm sure this will be a great year for much sewing and completions of UFO, flimsy's etc.

I have enjoyed reading a couple of books in the last few weeks I thought I would share as if you haven't read them I sure you would enjoy.
My friend Raewyn lent me this book and it is a must read for all quilting chicks!.....Thanks Raewyn.

What a great read this was. Easy reading, relaxing, a trip down memory lane of previous Elm Creek books and I nearly cried a couple of times.

I am looking forward to the last chapter in the Orca Bay Bonnie Hunter mystery, in between working on that I have been working on something that I can only give you a sneaky peaky of..........more later!
