"Spoonful of Sugar"........................
Michelle has received her lovely quilt in the mail so I am able to share all it's beauty! When I started quilting this beauty I was lead to believe this was a Sue Spargo design, not so! It is a design by Linda Guy - Sew Quilt Designs, the quilt is called "Spoonful of Sugar".
Michelle purchased as a BOM through AllThings Patchwork . Apart from some of the applique shapes (these being Kaffe Fasset fabrics) this quilt as all wool felt, and beautiful I might add soft and such vibrant colours! I fell in love with it!
Michelle gave me free range for my quilting instructions, she chose cotton batting, I used Glide threads and Madeira Monolon for the ditch stitching.
The only disappointing part for me is that Michelle had attached beads and eyes which make my job quite difficult as the hopping foot needs to get up close for stitching in the ditches , I was concerned I was going to break the birds eyes. Embellishments are best left attached after the quilting has been completed. Apart from that, I was as happy as a quilter in a thread shop!
Free form, no marking doodle quilting! Thanks so much Michelle.
Straight line quilting on the border then some matchstick filler. I wonder what Michelle's binding will be?
A snippet of the back.
Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate your comments and words of encouragement. I have nearly finished my Christmas orders!
