Friday Village

A.K.A - Moda's "Be My Neighbor". The Country Yard  joined in on this 'neighborly' sew along in their own style.

Isn't this a friendly happy quilt? Kerryn asked for custom quilting. I attempted to quilt in a sampler fashion, quilting something a little different in each house. Here it is loaded on my machine reading for the quilting - A.K.A icing or frosting!

The quilt measures 71" x 86" Kerryn supplied the polyester batting and asked for the
Full Quiltmekiwi Binding Service.

Ok now what you stopped by to see, the quilting................................................

This little boat is sailing rough seas!

I used several colours of Glide thread.

As well as photo's of the thread I took a photo of the back......didn't I do well?!

The finished quilt. Thank you Kerryn. Has anyone else made this quilt? What fabrics did you use?

  1. Hiya Leeanne, Kerryn sure does make some gorgeous quilts. I always love the fabrics & colours she uses. Love how you have quilted it & love those gorgeous glide thread colours. They look scrummy. Love the house with the little heart in it :-) LoVe everything!

  2. I love your quilting on this quilt and I think I pinned every picture. I struggle -with the 'how' to quilt-as-you-desire. Certainly hope these inspiring pictures will help when I begin to quilt the next project. Thanks for sharing.

  5. This looks wonderful! You did a fantastic job of enhancing a really great top. When you swap out threads - do you keep the same bobbin thread? (it looks as though you may have, but it's hard to tell in pictures...)
    happy quilting ~ Tracy

  6. Great job on the photos, Leeanne! But an even better job on the quilting. I was grinning and nodding as I went from house to house, noting the different designs you employed. Love it!
