Yeah!Finished my block and it is on it's way to Cat who will work her magic on my wee quilt.
I chose my charm squares from Butterfly Garden by Kansas Troubles, Moda and DMC threads to match. I love this range.
I designed and made this bag out of the same range.
Well I look forward to seeing what Helen 'assigns' us to do on Monday.
You can click on the photo for a close up.....opps, I see I forgot to stitch one of the stems! Oh well when it gets home I'll fix it.

New Zealand
The site of 'Kiwiana' quilts is becoming a common site here in kiwi land (AKA : New Zealand)
But this quilt by Jacki is great, isn't it?
The quilt is shown here already with the binding attached , Jacki just needs to hand sew the binding down.
Here is a close up of what I did on the borders...tricky to see on the red, but I used a rayon thread to match.

just a peep........
Here is a wee peek of what I have been working on today, I can't show you the finished quilt as it is to go in an exhibition at The Country Yard next Saturday (30th). This is an annual event that is always a success, beautiful quilts on display...that you can place a viewers choice on your favourite one (not easy to choose your favourite!), yummy new projects and lots of nice goodies and live music...not heavy metal, just nice background music.
This great day out is well visited and such a lovely atmosphere with gorgeous gardens...oh and a nice cuppa and nibbles too!
So if you are in the area, we would love to see you.

Number two
Remember this quilt ?
Well this quilt picture here is it's mate. Jacki made both these at beginners class at The Country Yard
Same colours and fabric range. This one has a pieced house while the first has an applique house.I forgot to take a photo of the back of this quilt, but rest assured it is as lovely as the first quilt's backing.
You will see on both quilts, below the house is a row of prairie points these have Yo Yo's added.
Thanks again Jacki for letting me work on your beautiful quilts ( I am working on another as we speak)
(PLEASE CLICK ON PHOTO FOR A CLOSE UP.)

Thanks Natalie............
I finished this stitchery a while ago, I got the pattern from The Australian Homespun magazine #84. This a Natalie Lymer design. When I first saw it I immediately thought of a friend of mine who is nearly self sufficient, she grows the most yummy potatoes! She is not a quilter...but we can forgive her for that :-)
Anyway I thought rather than a wall hanging, as Natalie has done for the magazine, I made a bag........
I bought this courgette fabric a few years ago in Wellington, never sure what I was going to do with it.
I also had bought this seed packet fabric, which I have used down the sides and for pockets inside and out.
I thought she might like it when she shops at the markets...for produce she doesn't grow!

oopps...............
has this ever happen to you?
I finished this quilt months ago and has been on our dinning table ever since, but while eating lunch with my husband I noticed I hadn't quilted one side of the background of this spool!
I can easily fix this, but it adds charm to it don't you think?

Remember When...........
Remember When Quilt |
I had the pleasure of meeting Libby last year at the AQM, she is a lovely person.
A close up of the beautiful colours Kerryn chose to do this BOM...which by the way was a sellout hit!
I think people loved the colours.
The blocks in this quilt are so sweet.

Farewell Frosty................
Here she is, the lucky last!
Now to put them together?????
I don't think I will put them together as Dawn has, something a bit different....just had Christmas coming to mind and once again another year of not having a box of goodies made!
Oh what is this????
Just playing with some thread here, isn't it nice the way it sparkles in the sun. I've been quilting all day today, well apart from hanging out washing, getting washing in, feeding our wee sweet pussy cat and feeding me.....not only did the sun shine on this thread, but it was shinning on my back while quilting, very nice indeed :-)
